Leigh Leopards to show they are play-off contenders in Magic Weekend clash with Warrington Wolves

Leigh Leopards head into Magic Weekend just two points outside of the top six and want to pick up a win over Warrington Wolves to send the statement that they are play-off ready.

The match between the Leopards and the Wolves closes out the action from Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday July 5 from 5.30pm, live on Your Site.

Leigh Leopards have won seven out of their last nine matches, their two losses coming against Hull KR.

It is a marked change from their tough start to the season, with their raft of injuries seeing them even bottom of the table at one point.

While Leigh have resurged in some fashion, the only win they have so far this season over a team in the top six came in round one against Leeds Rhinos.

For Leopards head coach Adrian Lam, the contest against Warrington is a chance to show that they are one of the teams to beat in 2026.

"It is massive for us in the context of the season," Lam told Your Site.

"I think it is our sixth or seventh week in a row where we have been away from home too, so we've had a really difficult period but through that difficult period we've had some of our best rugby.

"We slipped up two weeks ago and only lost twice I think in the last two months against the same team in Hull KR but we've certainly got some momentum there.

"We have had a lot of injuries during the season but most of the players are back now so it's a big one for us and we need to play our best rugby to make sure that we get the result that we deserve."

"I think as a group we're on the same page now on what we want to achieve, we have got most of our best players back and off the back of that we're starting to play the rugby as a team that we've been working really hard on during the season to play.

"This performance on Saturday is really important for us. It is hopefully going to kick us off for the second part of the season.

"We are not too far away from the top six, and the top four for that matter, so you know we need to win these games to make sure we get back up there."

Warrington Wolves have been dealt further injury blows heading into the contest, with Josh Thewlis, Jordy Crowther, and Arron Lindop sidelined.

That increases Sam Burgess' injury list to 11 but the head coach insists there are simply no excuses and he is expecting a big performance on the big stage.

"There is no excuse at all, it never has been since I've been at the club," Burgess told Your Site.

"It is part of the game, you need a tiny bit of luck along the way. It is just not on our side at the moment, that's okay, but there's absolutely no excuse why we shouldn't get a good performance out here on Saturday.

"We have had a good couple of days to look at Leigh, a good couple of days to look at ourselves, so I am excited to see what we put out there on Saturday."

Your Site will show every game of the Super League live this season, including two matches each round exclusively live. The remaining five matches will be broadcast on
