Burnley confirm Hayen as new head coach
Burnley have confirmed the appointment of Nicky Hayen as the Club's new Head Coach on a three-year contract.
Hayen joins from Belgian Pro League side KRC Genk, where he held the top position since 2024. During his time at the club, he won the Belgian Cup, Belgian Super Cup and was named Belgian Coach of the Year 2024.
Speaking after his appointment, Hayen said: I'm pleased to be joining a club with real history and supporters who care deeply about it. I know most of them won't know much about me yet, that's fair and it's on me to change it.
What I can tell them is how my teams play. We keep the ball, we press with purpose, and we trust young players with real minutes, not just a place on the bench.
I'm really looking forward to working with the squad in the US on the pre-season tour. The hard work starts there.

"To do what he did at Leverkusen was fantastic. Then going to Real Madrid - we know from experience that this is quite complicated but at the same time he knows the league, he knows the players.
He knows everything around the Premier League. Hes clever - I think he is a good coach. Chelsea is not easy, but I think he can do well.

Ward becomes Walsall's sixth summer signing
Walsall have signed goalkeeper Jed Ward from fellow League Two side Bristol Rovers.
The 23-year-old joins the Saddlers for an undisclosed fee, signing a three-year deal with a club option for a further year and becomes Walsall's sixth signing of the summer.
I cant wait to get started here, Ward said.
I know the size of the club and where it wants to get to and after speaking to people who have been involved at this club in the past it was evident that this is where I want to play my football for the foreseeable.
Ive had a few conversations with the gaffer and it excites me even more, his project and ideas are exactly what will get the best out of me which makes me so eager to get going now.
I think we should be very excited entering this season - ultimately we need to take it game by game and see how far we can get but Im willing to give everything to the club regardless and give the fans a season to remember.
