Hull City interested in Frankfurt's Dina Ebimbe

Hull City are interested in Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe, Your Site News understands.

He is one of a number of options on their radar, along with Lorients Arthur Avom.

Schalke have been in talks with Frankfurt over a deal for the 25-year-old, but so far, an agreement has not been reached.

The player spent last season on loan in Ligue 1 with Brest and has one year left on his deal.

Lockyer joins Melbourne Victory

Defender Thomas Lockyer has joinedAustralian A-League side Melbourne Victory.

The 31-year-old Wales international arrives on a free transfer having left Bristol Rovers at the end of last season.

Lockyer suffered a cardiac arrest while playing a Premier League match for Luton Town in December 2023, before making his return to football with Bristol Rovers last October.

We are especially pleased to have brought a player of Toms calibre, courage and leadership qualities to the A-League and to Melbourne Victory," said Melbourne Victory director of football, John Didulica.

He brings the experience of captaining a team in the Premier League and playing more than a century of matches in one of the worlds most demanding leagues, the Championship, as well as representing his country at the highest of levels.

We are excited by the hunger that Tom has for a new challenge, and it is fantastic that he can bring this energy to Victory.

Meanwhile, Lockyer said of the move: I am thrilled to have joined Melbourne Victory and cannot wait to get this next chapter of my career underway in such an amazing city.

This opportunity excites me a lot, as I look to experience new things and challenge myself in a fresh environment. Now it is time to get to work and be ready for every battle ahead.

Redknapp: Iraola will be disappointed with Edwards exit

Your Site' Jamie Redknapp on Michael Edwards stepping down:

"It did catch me by surprise that one. I think he's obviously done a great job. He originally was obviously at Portsmouth and where he was involved in all the statistics at a game, and then obviously the data element.

"He's almost been a pioneer of that. So it does surprise me, especially when Andoni had a relationship with him.

"I think they were together at some point. Obviously, Richard Hughes was. So yeah, I think Andoni would have been probably a little bit disappointed, but he might have also known that.

"We don't know. There might have been some dialogue said: "I'm going to get you in, but I'm going to just make sure you get settled. We'll try and get you some players that you need, and then fingers crossed, you can. You can get Liverpool back to obviously competing for the title next year.

"Now, it isn't great, but if you're the manager, you're still thinking to yourself, "This is Liverpool. This is one of the biggest clubs in the world. There's no doubt they will try and find another elite, you know, director of football or sporting director, whatever term you want to call it, and make sure that he gets all the help he needs because they will make sure you get all the right players.

"And they obviously do a lot of their players on data, which is important. It's been obviously very beneficial to Liverpool in the past. But some haven't been data. Now Virgil van Dijk wasn't data.

"He was just a great player that you had to pay big money for.

"That all of a sudden gives you what you need, and you would end up winning titles off the back of it, so Andoni will probably be a little bit disappointed, but at the same time thinking it's on me anyway.

"I've got to manage this team. I've got to live up to the expectations of the likes of Arne Slot, did winning the title. You know, so there are so many great managers that have been there in the past, and he'll get all the support he needs from the fans.

"Everyone will get right behind him and the players, and he must get that, but I'm sure they'll find someone that's at that elite level. But it certainly won't be easy, and it will be a big miss."

Saturday's morning headlines

Devlin joins Rangers after Hearts exit

Rangers have completed the signing of Cammy Devlin after the midfielder departed Hearts.

Wanted by Arsenal but now at Man City - just how good is Monga?

He turned 17 this summer - but he's already been part of a transfer saga between the two best clubs in England.

Jeremy Monga looked set to go to Arsenal. He was keen to join after holding talks with the Gunners.

But such is the rapid nature of the transfer market that Manchester City have snuck in at the 11th hour to sign him for 10m plus add-ons - a valuation Arsenal were unwilling to pay.

It's a steep fee for someone so young but Monga's potential is just as big. Ever since he made his Premier League debut last year at 15 years and 271 days old, clubs have been watching him.

He was so young on his Premier League debut that he was legally not allowed to have Leicester's front-of-shirt betting sponsor on his jersey.

Monga's young age puts him in good company. He is the third-youngest Premier League player ever behind Arsenal duo Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman. No wonder the Gunners were keen on him.

And even after a season with Leicester's first team in the Championship that resulted in relegation, the best teams in the land have seen more than enough to see the talent in Monga.

Jeremy Monga is Next Up.

Monga delighted to be joining 'best club in England over the past 10 years'

Exciting news for Man City fans with Jeremy Monga have joined the club from Leicester City and the young winger "delighted" to be joining "the best club in England over the past 10 years."

The England U19 international has penned a five-year deal, with City paying 10m for the player who turned 17 on Friday.

Monga, who is the third-youngest player to ever play in the Premier League, said of his move to the Etihad: "When I became aware that Manchester City were interested, I knew instantly this was the right choice for me.

"For any young footballer, to become part of this amazing club is a dream come true. This has been the best club in England over the past 10 years.

"And it has also handed opportunities to players from the academy like Phil Foden and Nico O'Reilly, which shows that the pathway is there.

"It is a privilege to be here, and I'm delighted to have joined."

Monga becomes new head coach Enzo Maresca's second signing of the summer after Elliott Anderson joined from Nottingham Forest for 116m.
