Kane focuses on World Cup despite Barcelonas interest in England forward

Harry Kane is fully focused on Englands bid for World Cup glory after Barcelona made an informal enquiry about signing him this summer.

Kane became Englands record goalscorer at the World Cup after scoring three goals in the group stage to take him past Gary Lineker to 11.

The 32-year-old will be hoping to add to his tally in the round of 32 clash against the Democratic Republic of Congo in Atlanta on Wednesday.

Barcelona contacted Kanes camp enquiring about the possibility of a summer move, but it was shut down, with the Bayern Munich man not entertaining any talk of his club future during the tournament.

Kane had a record-breaking season for Bayern, scoring 61 goals in 51 games as he topped the European goalscoring charts.

He has one year left to run on his deal at the Allianz Arena and conversations over a new contract have begun, with neither camp worried about the situation.

Barcelona have already signed one England international this summer after bringing Anthony Gordon in from Newcastle for nearly 70 million.

All the ins and outs so far...

PSG could loan Diomande back to Leipzig to get deal done

Paris Saint-Germain and RB Leipzig are discussing a deal that includes the potential for loaning Yan Diomande back to the Bundesliga club.

Leipzig managing director Marcel Schafer reiterated on Monday that they intend for Diomande to remain at the club next season.

This is despite entering into talks with PSG.

"Our clear intention is that Yan will play for RB Leipzig next year. And we wont move away from that," he said.

"We know exactly what we have in him. Of course, if Yan continues like this, the time will come when we allow him to take the next step - but not this year.

We hold all the cards. So, to make it clear once again: Diomande will remain an RB Leipzig player.

Godfrey has no recent regrets and hopes for a smoother time with Rangers

Ben Godfrey believes he will bring a wealth of experience and leadership to the Rangers defence following a turbulent couple of years since he left Everton for Atalanta.

The 28-year-old capped twice by England in 2021 joined the Ibrox club on a season-long loan from the Serie A club on the same day it emerged that goalkeeper Jack Butland could be about to depart for Hull.

Godfrey moved to Atalanta from Everton for a transfer fee in the region of 11 million in 2024 but made just five substitute appearances in Italy all in the first half of the 2024-25 campaign before loan stints with Ipswich, Sheffield United and Danish side Brondby over the past 18 months.

As he prepares to continue his career with Rangers, who have an option to buy him if the move goes to plan, the centre-back said in a Rangers TV interview: Italy was interesting. Completely different culture, a new challenge for me and the family.

I came out of it speaking Italian, which is interesting but obviously I didnt get many minutes there. But its a chapter of my life, which I dont regret.

And Denmark was brilliant for me. It was a good six months there, getting regular football, and it was a beautiful place to live. But thats all behind me. Im just excited to be back over here and ready to go. Its safe to say, obviously, the past couple of years has been turbulent.

But I dont regret anything over the past couple of years. Its made me the person and the player I am today.
