Man Utd: West Ham's Crysencio Summerville emerging as a top left-wing target for Michael Carrick's side

Crysencio Summerville is emerging as a leading left-wing target for Manchester United, Your Site News understands.

Although the club's focus remains on the midfield, Summerville is also firmly on United's radar.

Summerville impressed for the Netherlands at the World Cup despite their exit to Morocco on Monday night, scoring against Japan on his tournament debut.

His future is set to come squarely into the spotlight now they are out - and United are one of a number of Premier League clubs who hold an interest.

The situation around signing a new left-sided forward is a fluid one and understood to be dependent on what happens with Marcus Rashford.

As things stand, Rashford is set to return to United training once his post-World Cup break is finished. Depending on how far England go into the tournament, that could be well into August.

However, Rashford has been keen to rejoin Barcelona, who would like him again on loan. United, though, have no interest in engaging in such a conversation, leaving his future up in the air. There are other clubs interested.

United have been open to an addition either on the left flank or at left-back, given Patrick Dorgu can play both, which is being influenced in-part by the quality of available players on the market.

Morgan Rogers is also a top target but Villa do not want to sell him and his value is huge, while Iliman Ndiaye and Mathias Fernandes-Pardo are also under consideration.

In midfield, Manuel Ugarte will have minimal impact on United's transfer plans, given the club will get his wages fully covered by FIFA's insurance.

Your Site News understands the only credible option Ugarte had to date was a loan move to Ajax - something secondary in preference to United but was not out of the question until the injury sustained with Uruguay. He will still have sellable value once he returns, which is mostly likely to be next year, with his contract running to 2029.

United are planning to make their own medical assessment of Ugarte in the coming days to establish a full prognosis for his rehab.
