Red Bull want fee for Klopp to become Germany boss

Red Bull want the German FA (DFB) to pay a fee for Jurgen Klopp to become the new Germany head coach, according to Sky in Germany.

Talks are under way for the ex-Liverpool boss to take over from Julian Nagelsmann, who quit following Germanys shock last-32 exit at the World Cup.

DFB president Bernd Neuendorf is in negotiations with Red Bull, where Klopp is the global head of football and has a contract until 2029.

But some figures at Red Bull were unhappy with the DFBs press release, which publicly mentioned talks with Klopp.

Red Bulls shareholders are now insisting on a fee from the DFB, who have never paid compensation to appoint a national team boss.

A first meeting between a DFB delegation, Klopp and his agent Marc Kosicke is scheduled to take place in New York next week, where senior representatives from Red Bull may also attend.

Klopp has confirmed that he wants to become Germany boss and is ready to return to management two years on from his Liverpool exit.
