Southampton are in advanced talks with midfielder Dan Neil. The free agent midfielder is high on Tonda Eckerts wish list, and is close to signing for Saints.
Wolves and West Ham are also interested in the 24-year-old, who has his pick of top Championship clubs.
McCrorie becomes McInnes's first signing as Rangers boss
Rangers have signed Bristol City defender Ross McCrorie on a three-year deal, with the option for a further 12 months.
The 28-year-old is the clubs first signing under new manager Derek McInnes.
He came through the ranks at Ibrox, before moving to Aberdeen in 2020, where McInnes was his manager.
Speaking to RangersTV, McCrorie said: It is a dream come true to come back up the road to the team I support.
I am not that little kid who was at Rangers back in the day, I have changed a lot character-wise, and player-wise I feel I have changed massively.
I feel like I am ready now and I want to come back here and win trophies.
Meanwhile, McInnes said of his new signing: Ross is someone I signed for Aberdeen from Rangers and at that time he wanted to go out and prove himself which I think says a lot for him.
He has developed and improved as a player, he has got that added experience, he is a full international now and he knows the club inside out.
In the conversations I have had with him, a lot of things I am saying are things he wants from the club as well so he's a determined and competitive boy on the pitch and he is determined to bring good times back to the club.
Torino exploring Nelson deal
Serie A club Torino have been exploring a deal for Leicester centre-back Ben Nelson, according to Sky in Italy.
The 22-year-old is entering the final year of his contract with the Foxes and is one of the options Torino are considering.
Nelson made 24 appearances in the Championship last season as Leicester were relegated to League One.
Sarmiento turns Boro loan into permanent move
Brighton winger Jeremy Sarmiento has completed a permanent move to Middlesbrough for an undisclosed fee.
Sarmiento spent the second half of last season on loan with the Championship side.
The Ecuador international made 21 appearances in total for Brighton having joined in 2021.
Technical director Mike Cave said: Jeremy has spent the last few years out on loan, so this represents a great opportunity for him to settle in one place.
He is another success story of a player joining our U21s and making the step up to mens football at a very good level. We wish him the best of luck for the future."
Hearts appoint Vrancken to succeed McInnes
Hearts have confirmed the appointment of Wouter Vrancken as their new head coach.
The 47-year-old joins as a free agent after recently leaving Sint-Truiden off the back of leading them to a third-placed finish in the Belgian top flight.
The Belgian succeeds Derek McInnes, who moved to Rangers after coming within minutes of leading Hearts to the William Hill Premiership title.
The two-time Belgian manager of the year has signed a two-year contract.
Monza keen on Echeverri
Newly promoted Serie A side Monza have a strong interest in Manchester City youngster Claudio Echeverri, according to Sky in Italy.
The 20-year-old is returning to City after spending the season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen and then Girona, who are part of the City Football Group's multi-club network.
City signed Echeverri from River Plate in January 2024 for an initial 12.5m after the success of Julian Alvarez's transfer from the same Argentinian club.
Echeverri, who has two years left on his deal at City, has only made three substitute appearances for the Premier League club, including a surprise appearance in the 2025 FA Cup final defeat to Crystal Palace.
As it stands, Claudio Echeverri is expected go on Manchester Citys pre-season tour of Hong Kong.
Arsenal in talks over Leicester teenager Monga

Arsenal remain in talks with Leicester City over the signing of 16-year-old winger Jeremy Monga.
Monga will be 17 on July 10th he was expected to sign his first professional deal with Leicester this summer.
Several clubs were interested in Monga but once Arsenals interest became clear, its understood they were the players preference.
Discussions have been described as very respectful and its hoped a deal can be struck without the need for a tribunal to decide on compensation.
Monga is the third-youngest player to feature in a Premier League match behind Arsenal duo Max Dowman and Ethan Nwaneri.
He made his debut for Leicester aged 15 years and 271 days against Newcastle in April 2025. He has since made 37 first team appearances for the club, including 30 last season in all competitions.
Leicester were relegated to League One last season, having been deducted six points in February for breaching the English Football Leagues profitability and sustainability rules (PSR) during the three-year period ending with the 2023-24 season.
Arsenal make Hincapie deal permanent

Arsenal have activated the option to make Piero Hincapies loan move from Bayer Leverkusen a permanent deal.
The defender joined on an initial loan from Leverkusen last summer and helped Arsenal to their first Premier League title for 22 years.
Your Site News understands the option price for Hincapie is in the regionof 34.5m (40m), and the 24-year-old has signed a five-year contract.
Hincapie made 39 appearances in all competitions last season and started the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.
Godfrey signs new London City deal
London City Lionesses forward Freya Godfrey has signed a new deal at the club until the summer of 2029.
The 21-year-old initially arrived on loan in January 2025, before joining the WSL club permanently last summer.

Kinsky close to new five-year Spurs deal

Tottenham are close to an agreement with Antonin Kinsky over a new five-year contract.
The offer also includes an option to extend the deal for a further year to 2032.
Talks are in the final stages and Spurs are hopeful of a full agreement soon.
Kinsky sacrificed his place in the Czech Republic World Cup squad to undergo a minor medical procedure and ensure his long-term fitness.
He had the procedure after the final game of the season against Everton, having impressed as Roberto De Zerbi's first choice during the run-in.
Spurs signed Martin Dubravka on Wednesday to further strengthen their goalkeeping department, with Guglielmo Vicarios future looking increasingly uncertain.
He has interest from back in his native Italy including from Inter Milan, Napoli and Juventus.
