Work already under way for signings, says Maresca
Enzo Maresca says Manchester City are already working on potential reinforcements in the transfer window ahead of his first season in charge of the club.
Maresca signed a three-year deal to succeed Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium.
His first competitive game in charge will be against Arsenal in the Community Shield on August 16.
Speaking in an interview with the club, Maresca commented on the current squad, where he revealed he is already working with sporting director Hugo Viana on potential signings.
Its a young squad, but its a very good squad," Maresca said.
"I think also we have the right mix between young players and more experienced players which helps the young ones a lot to grow and improve.
The squad is already good, for sure. We need to do some things, but we are working with Hugo and we will see.
Former Chelsea star Kerr joins Gotham FC
Australian striker Sam Kerr is joining Gotham FC in the National Women's Soccer League following her departure from Chelsea.
Gotham announced the signing of Kerr on Monday. She has signed a deal that will run until 2030.
The move marks a return to the NWSL for Kerr, who previously played for Sky Blue - which later became Gotham - from 2015-17.
Kerr said: Im incredibly excited to return to Gotham FC and to this city.
"This club was an important part of my journey, and to come back at this moment, with everything Gotham has built, is really special.
"The ambition here is clear, and Im looking forward to helping this team compete for trophies and create more history.
Skinner takes on role at Sunderland
Sunderland Women have announced the appointment of Rehanne Skinner as technical director.
The 46-year-old had been out of work since December, when she was sacked by West Ham.
Speaking to the club's official website, Skinner said: Im incredibly excited to play a part in the next phase of this remarkable football club.
"Sunderland AFC Women is an institution with a proud history, passionate supporters, and enormous potential.
I believe strongly in the project and the vision for the future and am thrilled to work alongside Kay and the Bay Collective team to build the structures, foundations and environment that will enable the club to get back to where it belongs and create sustained success for years to come."

Barcelona are interested in signing England captain Harry Kane.
The Spanish champions are reportedly exploring how to finance a possible deal for the Bayern Munich striker.
Your Site News understands that the 32-year-old and his family are very happy in Munich and his sole focus right now is on England at the World Cup.
It is believed both Bayern and Kane are relaxed about his contract situation, despite only having a year left on his current deal.
Kane has just reached his 70th goal this season for club and country.
Kane scored 61 club goals and seven assists in 51 games in the 2025/26 season. The last player to score this many goals in all competitions was Ronaldo for Real Madrid back in the 2014/25 season.
Kane has won three trophies this season, including the German Super Cup, Bundesliga and DFB Pokal, as well as winning the European Golden Shoe by being the top goal scorer across Europes top 5 leagues.
This is his second European Golden Shoe; only a handful of players have two, and only Lionel Messi (6) and Cristiano Ronaldo (4) have more.
Coventry in talks for Frankfurt's Amenda
Coventry City are in talks with Eintracht Frankfurt over the transfer of Aurele Amenda, Sky Germany are reporting.
Negotiations are already understood to be well advanced for the centre-back, who wants to play in the Premier League.
Frankfurt are prepared to sell Amende, 22.
Your Site News reported last month that Coventry's priority positions are left-back, centre-back and new wingers.
Goalkeeper is another area that needs addressing, with last season's on-loan number one Carl Rushworth the top target to come back from Brighton permanently.
What is Chelsea's view on Maresca's appointment?

"Maresca's departure from Chelsea was very acrimonious. There were a lot of stories that he was unhappy with the way Chelsea were run, and certain aspects about the structure of the club.
"But all along we reported the main issue was he knew that potentially Pep Guardiola was going to be leaving - and he was contacted about the possibility of succeeding him.
"That totally disrupted Chelsea's season. The last thing they wanted to do was lose their manager mid-season. That's exactly what happened.
"There were a lot of people saying that Maresca was sacked - but we always reported that he resigned. Chelsea believe he resigned because his head and heart were no longer at the club.
"He had a contract at Chelsea until effectively 2030, when you factor in the Blues' option to extend that contract, which did not have a release clause. You can't just walk out of a contract at a top Premier League club and take another job at another Premier League club, you have contractual obligations.
"Chelsea have been working very hard that their interests were defended and that their position is respected in this.
"Manchester City will be paying Chelsea 17m in compensation. And Maresca himself will pay Chelsea compensation, which is an undisclosed amount. He has also apologised in public for leaving Chelsea last season."

The revelation about the compensation figures comes after Chelsea released a strongly worded statement
It read: "In Autumn last year, the Club was informed by our former Head Coach [Maresca] that there might be an opportunity for him to succeed Pep Guardiola at the end of the season. It became clear to us that it was his strong desire to succeed Guardiola and that he was fully committed to pursuing the opportunity, despite the fact he was under a long-term contract which he had no right to terminate.
"In December 2025, our Head Coach unexpectedly and abruptly resigned from his position. Obviously, we felt let down as we believed that his head and heart were focused on another club and another opportunity, despite having just arrived at Chelsea the year before.
"No club wants to change its head coach midway through a season. However, in light of his decision not to continue fulfilling his responsibilities through to the end of the season, the Club was left with no choice but to protect our players, our supporters, and the Badge and accept his resignation.
"In the circumstances and given the mutual respect between clubs, a confidential settlement has been reached with Manchester City, which includes the payment of compensation. A confidential settlement has also been reached with the former Head Coach under which he will pay compensation.
"Looking forward to next season, in Xabi Alonso, we have a Manager who has an exceptional football mind and is a professional of the highest integrity. He has all the attributes to deliver the success the Clubs supporters deserve and expect."
