Spurs reject 46m offer from Newcastle for Bergvall

Latest from Your Site News' Michael Bridge, Keith Downie & Zinny Boswell:

Newcastle have had a 46m verbal offer for midfielder Lucas Bergvall rejected by Tottenham.

Discussions have taken place between the two clubs about the figures it would take to agree a deal for the 20-year-old.

Newcastle are searching for a midfielder to replace Sandro Tonali, who was sold to Spurs in a club-record 100m deal earlier this month.

Bergvall is determined to leave Spurs this summer, with Nottingham Forest having already had a 38m offer rejected.

Forest made Bergvall their top midfield target this summer after Elliot Anderson was sold to Manchester City for 116m.

Oliver Glasner's side are not expected to give up on Bergvall despite seeing their initial 38m offer knocked back.

Spurs are reluctant to let Bergvall go, but it is understood they would be open to selling the Sweden international if they received the right offer.

Bergvall wants to leave Spurs in search of more game time in his preferred role as a box-to-box midfielder.

Your Site News has been told there has been no attempt to convince Bergvall to stay, while Spurs sources have been insisting he is not for sale.

Ederson signs new Atalanta deal after Man Utd move fell through

Ederson has signed a new deal at Atalanta after his proposed move to Manchester United fell through.

United had agreed personal terms with Ederson and the structure of a 38m deal with Atalanta this summer.

However, the move never materialised after he underwent part of a medical with United, who then signed Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos.

United did not rule out reworking the Ederson deal earlier this week, but the Brazil international will now stay in Serie A.

In a post on X, Ramy Abbas Issa wrote: "I personally do not know where Mohamed will play next season. What does that tell you?"

His latest post follows reports on social media that the former Liverpool forward had accepted a move to the Turkish club on a one-year deal.

Manchester City have sold academy graduate Reigan Heskey to Bundesliga side Cologne in a permanent deal worth up to nearly 6m.

The 18-year-old winger - son of Emile Heskey - has signed a contract with the German club until 2030.

City retain a sell-on percentage, matching rights and a buy-back clause for the highly rated teenager.

Heskey scored a late winner in City's 2-1 FA Youth Cup final victory against Manchester United in May.

Villa sign World Cup star Manzambi

Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of Switzerland's World Cup star Johan Manzambi.

The 20-year-old midfielder arrives for a fee of almost 59.5m, according to Sky Germany.

Newcastle previously verbally agreed a 49m deal with Freiburg but Manzambi has moved to Villa Park in a club-record deal.

Manzambi was part of the Freiburg side that Villa beat in the Europa League final.

Manzambi will help to fill the void left by Youri Tielemans' move to Manchester United and Amadou Onana's injury suffered with Belgium at the World Cup.

Como talks for Chalobah continue after two bids rejected

Latest from Your Site News' James Savundra:

Como are yet to reach an agreement with Chelsea as talks continue over the signing of defender Trevoh Chalobah

Chelsea have already rejected two bids from Como for the 27-year-old, but talks continue between the two clubs.

Inter had also been in the race but have now cooled their interest, according to Sky in Italy.

Chelsea are not willing to drastically lower their asking price for an England international who has played an important role for the club under a series of managers.

Chalobah has two years left on his contract, plus a club-held option for a third.
