DP World Tour: Michael Hollick wins BMW International Open as YouTube star Brad Dalke secures top 30 finish

Michael Hollick produced a sensational eagle on the final hole to win the DP World Tour's BMW International Open on Sunday, as YouTuber Brad Dalke sealed a credible top-30 finish.

After overnight co-leader Hollick missed a par putt on the 16th, victory looked certain for fellow South African Hennie Du Plessis, who led by three shots before a bogey at the 17th opened the door for his compatriot.

After a birdie on the 17th, Hollick then created an eagle chance on the final hole with a superb approach shot and he holed it from 20ft to card a final round 67 and win the tournament on 18 under.

"I was actually very calm the whole day and stuck to the stuff I've done the whole week," said Hollick.

"You start making a few birdies and it's easy to start thinking too far ahead. I pulled myself back and said to Dave, who caddied for me, 'if I have a chance to win the tournament playing the back nine that's what I want'.

"Funnily enough when I went to bed yesterday I thought that if I had a chance to make eagle on the last to win it, that would be something."

He added: "It's amazing. It's given myself and my family such a good opportunity."

The result was cruel on Du Plessis (-17), who started the day two shots behind Hollick and Bernd Wiesberger and produced seven birdies in a final-round 66.

The only blemish in his final round came at the 17th and even after missing his birdie putt on the final hole he would have thought he had done enough to at least secure a play-off. Ultimately, he had to settle for second place, one shot behind Hollick.

Austria's Wiesberger (-14) finished third with France's Oihan Guillamoundeguy and Mexico's Carlos Ortiz tied for fourth (-12). England's Marco Penge and Joe Dean were among four players sharing ninth place (-9).

Earlier in the week, YouTube golfer Brad Dalke had remarkably found himself challenging near the top of the leaderboard on his DP World Tour debut, sitting two shots off the lead at the halfway stage after a second-round 66.

Best known for his contributions to the popular Good Good YouTube golf channel, Dalke received a sponsor's exemption to play in Munich and catapulted himself into contention with a Friday round that contained seven birdies and one dropped shot.

However, his challenge faded on Saturday as he posted five bogeys in a third-round 75 and he followed that with a one-over-par 73 on Sunday to finish five under for the tournament.

Dalke found the water twice at the par-five 11th on Sunday, recording a triple bogey to spoil his final round and plummet into a share of 30th.

The 28-year-old was somewhat of a golfing prodigy in his youth, winning the 2015 Junior PGA Championship and finishing as runner-up at the US Amateur a year later which earned him a spot at both The Masters and US Open in 2017, although he failed to make the cut at either.

He is now expected to play at the Rocket Classic on the PGA Tour at the end of the month.
